How to Set Up Automatic Page Numbering

To set up your layout so that pages will be numbered automatically, follow these steps:

1. Go to Page > Display > Master Page.
2. On the Master Page, draw a text box where you want the Automatic Page Number to display on your layout pages.
   Note!: If you are working in a Facing Pages layout, be sure to draw a text box in the corresponding location on both pages of the Facing Pages Master Page.
3. With the Content tool selected, enter Command 3 (Mac), or Control 3 (Windows). This will insert <#> Auto-Page Numbering character into the box. thus having numbers in all the master pages.
